About Power Play Chronicles

Power Play Chronicles is a free, browser-based presidential primary campaign simulator. You take a candidate from the opening contests through the nomination fight, making the same hard calls a real campaign manager faces: where to spend, who to fight, and whose advice to take.

The premise

Every primary is a head-to-head race between you and one rival. You start with a finite war chest and a map of states, each voting on its own day. You can't spend money you don't have, and you can't be everywhere — so every dollar and every visit is a choice. Build momentum, manage your delegate count, and survive the debates that can swing a contest overnight.

Your advisors are the stars

You don't run the campaign alone. A team of advisors hands you recommendations every turn — and they don't agree with each other. One is a cautious realist, one buries you in polling jargon, one is convinced the sky is falling. Part of the game is learning which advisor to trust in which situation, because following the wrong voice at the wrong moment can cost you a state you should have won.

Span of play: 2000 to 2028

You can run campaigns across presidential election years from 2000 through 2028. Play as Democrats like Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, or FDR, or as Republicans like Donald Trump, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, Ron DeSantis, Marco Rubio, or JD Vance. Each leader is stronger in some states than others, so the same map plays differently depending on who you choose.

Built for the browser

There's nothing to download and no account required to start. The game runs on desktop and mobile, and the same codebase powers the website and the mobile apps. If you like political strategy games such as Campaign Trail or Twilight Struggle, this is built for you — and it's free to start right now.
