Advisors are the stars. Between contests, your advisors pitch strategies — but they disagree with each other, and they aren't always right. On higher difficulties the opponent is quietly tracking which advisors have been accurate and firing the bad ones faster than you are. Learning who to trust is the whole game.
Debates matter. You face real questions and choose how to answer. Answers move specific voter blocs, so a strong debate can rescue a state you were losing — and a bad one can hand it away.
It's a primary, not just an election. The money, the momentum, the state-by-state calendar, and the delegate math are all built around winning a nomination head-to-head against a single rival.
